Where to Volunteer on ʻĀina in Hawaiʻi

Knowing you want to volunteer is one thing . . . figuring out where to start is another.

With so many conservation organizations across Hawaiʻi, it can feel overwhelming to narrow it down. And if you’re like us, finding a place whose values and mission truly align with yours matters.

Whether you’re drawn to the mountains or feel most at home by the kai, this list offers a starting point.

Some of these organizations are ones we’ve built relationships with over the years. Others we may not know personally, but the work they’re doing and the opportunities they offer are worth exploring.

That said, we haven’t visited every single site listed here, so take the time to do your own research, too. Ask yourself: Where do I want to be working? Who do I want to be learning from and serving? What kind of skills do I want to build? And what communities do I feel called to support?
